Free UTM link builder

Tag a link so you can tell which post, platform or campaign sent each visit. Fill in the fields and copy the result.

Your tagged link

Paste a link and fill in the tags. The link appears here.

How to use it

Make one tagged link for each place you post: one for your Instagram story, one for your newsletter, one for an ad. Use the same names every time, so that results add up.

Then use the tagged address as the destination of a ZRO link. Visitors open it in the right app, and the dashboard shows taps by source and campaign. For a full walk-through, read how to track clicks on an Instagram link.

UTM questions

What is a UTM tag?

A UTM tag is a small piece added to the end of a link, such as ?utm_source=instagram, that says where a visit came from. Analytics tools, including ZRO, read it and group visits by it.

Which UTM tags should I use?

Source, medium and campaign cover most needs. Source is the platform, such as instagram or newsletter. Medium is the kind of placement, such as social, email or paid-social. Campaign is the post, launch or offer. Term and content are optional, for keywords and for telling two versions of the same post apart.

Why does the builder make everything lowercase?

Tags are case sensitive in most reports, so Instagram and instagram show up as two sources. Lowercase with hyphens keeps each name as one row.

Is anything I type saved?

No. The link is built in your browser and never sent to us.

How do I see the results?

Put the tagged link inside a ZRO link, post it, and open the dashboard. Taps are grouped by campaign, and by source, with the share that opened the app.
