X deep links
A ZRO X deep link opens posts, profiles, links on both x.com and twitter.com in the X app, on iPhone and Android, even when the tap starts inside another app’s browser.
What an X deep link opens
- Posts
- Profiles
- Links on both x.com and twitter.com
Other X pages, such as Explore, Search or Settings, open on the website on iPhone.
What happens on each device
- iPhone
- On an iPhone, ZRO opens posts and profiles in the X app.
- Android
- ZRO opens the X app by its package name, com.twitter.android. If the app is not installed, the visitor gets the website.
- Computer
- There is no app to open, so the visitor gets the X website. The tap is still counted.

How do I make an X deep link?
Paste any X link into ZRO and share the short link it gives you. When someone taps it on an iPhone or an Android phone, it opens in the X app. On a computer it opens the website.
Does an X deep link work from inside Instagram, TikTok or Facebook?
Yes. ZRO recognises the in-app browser and steps out of it. On an iPhone it opens the X app first and falls back to Safari. On Android it opens the app through its package.
What happens if X is not installed?
The visitor lands on the X website instead of an error. ZRO records the tap, so you can see how many people could not open the app.
What can an X deep link open?
Posts, Profiles, Links on both x.com and twitter.com. Other X pages, such as Explore, Search or Settings, open on the website on iPhone.
Can I see how many people opened the X app?
Yes. Your dashboard shows Yield, the share of taps on phones that ended with the app open, along with where each tap came from and which outcome it had.
